Rod Black

Rod Black is a Canadian sports announcer for TSN and CTV Sports. He calls games for the CFL, Toronto Raptors and the Toronto Blue Jays. He also calls Canadian golf tournaments for the PGA, on occasion bowling tournaments, curling and figure skating. He anchored CTV's coverage of the 1991 Canada Cup, 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain and the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. He won the 2005 Sports Media Canada Award as Outstanding Sports Broadcaster and has earned five Gemini Award nominations for Best Sports Broadcaster.

Prior to coming onto the national scene, he worked as a sportscaster in Winnipeg, where he hosted Winnipeg Jets TV broadcasts on CKY .

He has been a co-host of Canada AM, the host of CKY Sports Sunday, and is a spokesperson for Foster Parents Plan of Canada. He broke the news of the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001, while with Canada AM.
